Removing the Ads From the Buddy List |

Annoyed by those flashing ads? Don't want that wasted space? Get rid of it!
Backup any files you change before starting the modification.
- Go to wherever you installed
AIM (usually C:\Program Files\aim95\)
- Delete the file
"advert.ocm"
- Make a copy of
"admin.ocm"
- Rename the copy of
"admin.ocm" to "advert.ocm"
Easy as cake! No more annoying flashing ads. No more accidentally clicking
an ad and having a window pop up. No more lagging while it attempts to update
the ads. Just less distraction.
If for some reason AIM does not function properly, download the
latest version of AIM and install. It will restore it to the
original settings.
